The police found a receipt inside the car. It contains the car number, engine number, chassis number, and the name of Anwarul Azim alias Anar, former MP from Jhenaidah-4 constituency, handwritten on it.

The police of Kushtia Model Police Station have seized a luxury car parked in the parking lot of a multi-storey building in Kushtia city. The car was seized from the parking zone of Safina Tower, a multi-storey building in front of the District Police Superintendent’s office, at around 1 am on Monday.
The police found a receipt inside the car. It has the car number, engine number, chassis number and the name of Anwarul Azim alias Anar, a former MP from Jhenaidah-4 constituency, handwritten on it.
When asked about it, Kushtia Police spokesperson Additional Superintendent of Police (Finance and Administration) Faisal Mahmud told Prothom Alo at around 11 am on Tuesday that the car has been seized and kept in the custody of the building owner. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the car belongs to the former MP from Jhenaidah. The papers will be verified by BRTA officials. However, this is not possible as it is a holiday. Action will be taken later.
Prothom Alo spoke to Anwarul Azim’s only daughter Mumtarin Ferdous. At around 11:30 am today, she said that after looking at the car number, she was sure that the car belonged to her father. She had seen the car’s pictures and news on social media since last night. He also said that after the brutal murder of his father in Kolkata, India and the incident after August 5 last year, there was no opportunity to see or find out where, how, or who has the car. He will take legal recourse to recover the car.
According to police and local sources, a black Toyota Land Cruiser Prado car worth several crores of taka was brought to the Safina Tower garage about three months ago.
Alamgir, the guard in charge of the Safina Tower garage, said that two officials of a tobacco company left the car about three months ago. Five flats on the second, third and fourth floors of the building have been rented for the buyers of their company.
